What to do with so much information?
Blogs can be an endless wormhole of information that people are willingly sharing. You can find nearly anything from the best way to mow your lawn to how to build a computer. The information accessible is astronomical and it’s all thanks to the advancement of technology. My goal is to share what I know, with everything accessible online you can learn anything you want and it all starts with a Google search.
I have the tragic trait where the second I have a question or thought that I want to know more about I instantly search for an answer. I would like to share what I have discovered whether it’s a task related to my hobbies or simply just something I am passionate about. My generation loves to post whatever they want so I aim to create a space where there just might be something for everyone. As I learn, I hope you learn something new as well.
What I’ve Learned…
To start off with my first blog post, something interesting that I discovered in one of my courses was Creative Commons. It is a nonprofit organization that assists creators and “enables the sharing and use of creativity and knowledge through free legal tool.” With more elaboration, if I were to take this image for example:
and post it on my site, there are conditions to using an image that is not mine. The conditions of me using this varies depending on my source. There are four types of Creative Commons licenses which range from giving credit to such creators to the ability to modify and or distribute their work.
You can “get a license that clearly indicates how other people may use your creative work” which simplifies the process in which you and I use other individuals’ creative content. You can find more information here.
So if you see small symbols such as these pictured above, it gives your insight into what you can or cannot do with that image. I can only hope you have learned something new just as I have!
